Our recent General Meeting was a significant milestone, with a warm welcome to all AmCham Board members. The agenda included a short introduction by the President, a presentation of the financial accounts, discussions on constitutional changes, and an open floor for members to voice their thoughts.

Financial Accounts Presentation: VP President Savvas Klitou presented the financial accounts for 2024. The detailed presentation provided insights into our financial health and future projections.

Constitutional Changes: We proposed several constitutional changes, which were well-received by the members.

BoD Elections: We are thrilled to announce that we received the highest number of candidates for the BOD for the upcoming 2025-2027 period. After careful consideration, it was decided not to hold elections this time. Instead, we will focus on increasing BOD members’ engagement through the establishment of an Executive Committee, reorganization of technical committees, and quarterly Board Meetings.

President’s Remarks: President Georgios Georgiou reflected on the achievements of AmCham Cyprus and elaborated on advocacy and networking events held since the last AGM, with 13 Flagship Events Delivered, 1500+Stakeholders Engaged, 8 Ministries & Public Agencies Involved + 6 policy interventions. He also informed about the exciting lineup of events planned for the coming months, including forums, breakfast series, and the Annual Thanksgiving Gala Dinner, in the presence of H.E., the President of the RoC.

Remarks by Dan Mangis, U.S. Embassy: Mr. Daniel Mangis, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the U.S. Embassy in Nicosia, expressed his full support and highlighted the strong partnership between the U.S. Embassy and AmCham Cyprus, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration to enhance business relations between Cyprus and the U.S. Mr. Mangis also acknowledged the significant progress made in various initiatives and expressed optimism for future endeavors.

Honouring Varnavas Theodosiou and Georgios Georgiou: The AGM concluded by honouring Varnavas Theodosiou for his outstanding multi-year contribution to the energy sector developments in the region and for strengthening the USA-Cyprus relations and Georgios A. Georgiou who after four years of extraordinary leadership stepped down as President, expressing our sincere gratitude for his tireless dedication, bold leadership, and unwavering belief in the mission of our Chamber.
